How I Messaged 60+ People on Instagram

Three months ago, I did warm outreach.

What is warm outreach?

Reaching out to people who've given you permission to contact them.

Why was I doing it?

I tried getting my first few customers for my freelance marketing business.

I'm taking a page from Alex Hormozi's book '$100M Leads' of how I did this.

So, this how to do it.

Reach out to people you know by commenting on something they've done recently. Then, steer the conversation towards what your product is solving.

Now, instead of asking THEM – ask if THEY know anybody that would be interested in your product or service.

Essentially, being a normal human being, then, asking if they can help you out.

How would it look like?

Instagram is probably an easy one for social media marketing.

Or, you might just barge in.

"By the way, would you know anyone who would be interested in X?"

Guess what?

I was TERRIFIED.

And they probably didn't even know it!

Ultimately, it was a fear of social rejection. That I'd be rejected for making the conversation awkward or being left on read.

Fears of mine that originate from the bad experiences I had DM-ing people back in high school.

However, this was not the case at all.

Okay, maybe one guy...

Most of my followers are from high school. I haven't seen them for over a year.

It was nice getting an insight to how they're going.

Perhaps, you're reading this and terrified about doing the same thing.

Whether that's reaching out to people you haven't spoke to in a long time. Or doing warm outreach.

Yet, I act in spite of my fear. Because, I care more about the potential growth I have as a person rather than my comfort zone.

Also, getting over the fact that people will judge me.

For my math nerds, here's the numbers breakdown of my reach outs.
