About Me
Self-improvement is the way.
Hello, my name is Denzil Duke.
I'm currently a digital creator and freelance digital marketer.
At the moment, I'm mainly writing about content, freelancing and becoming a digital marketer. I also have interests in self-improvement, Japanese, piano, entrepreneurialism and life.
The website has been a place to showcase my ideas.
My Content Making/Marketing/Sales History
2015: Wrote and spoke my first speech in front of my peers. First interviews to become school captain. Suggested the creation of a newspaper club run by students. The following year the position was called "Media Officers".
2016: Became school captain. Exposed to creating digital content through my Year 6 teacher: creating tourism ads, digital artworks, etc.
2017: A guy from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia gave a talk on entrepreneurship and turning your passion into a profit. Inspired me to sell cans of Coca-Cola to school students.
2018: Created my first YouTube channel called "Dukey Box". I made poorly animated videos about topics I had no right talking about. (From what I recall, it was dating) Also, uploaded clips from a game called Rainbow Six Siege.
2019: Became Junior Vice-Captain delivering speeches at school events. Started uploading Minecraft content where I did live commentary and do voice overs.
Early 2022: Created my website and YouTube channel "Denzil Duke". Switched from gameplay videos to talking on camera.
Late 2022: Joined an SMMA course in December. Had no clients and gave up. Took an opportunity to learn retail sales at a national golf chain.
Early 2023: Joined a dropshipping course and made my first dollar running Facebook ads. (Wasn't profitable). Turned off site and ad accounts. Took losses. Had my first digital marketing client, a golf coach who needed a website to capture online bookings ands sales.
Late 2023: Tried selling copywriting to local businesses. No responses. Join a tech sales bootcamp to land a role in tech sales. First 4 months of job searching, got responses and interviews. No job offers.
Early 2024: Dropped out of sales bootcamp because of a sales position in Print & IT company I was working for. The position became redundant.
Tried applying for marketing roles. Being turned down for lack of experience. Received my qualifications as a Certified Digital Marketer. Job hunting while freelancing.
